What information we collect
The Kinship Conservation Fellows program collects information volunteered by visitors to the site. Information we collect includes personally identifiable information (name, address, and email), information about an organization affiliation, and information about your conservation interests. No personally identifiable information is collected about individuals without their knowledge. We also collect aggregate information about website use, without identifying personal information, such as what pages and sections are most popular to our users.

How this information is used
The Kinship Conservation Fellows program uses the information that is voluntarily shared to help us define our web content and email outreach. We may also contact you to alert you about a conservation opportunity or to ask you to promote our work. We use aggregate information about website usage to inform website content.

If you choose to apply to join the program, you will be asked to provide detailed information about yourself, your experiences and leadership vision, as well as educational and work records and recommendations. Applications are used internally for administrative purposes, to communicate with applicants, and to determine acceptance into the program.

The Kinship Conservation Fellows program does not subject data subjects to decisions that have legal effects on them due solely to automated processing of personal data.

Sharing information with third parties
The Kinship Conservation Fellows program does not make any list of applicants or visitors to our website or their email addresses available to third parties.

For example, we may work with outside companies to: (a) manage a database of customer information; (b) assist us in distributing emails; (c) assist us with direct marketing and data collection; (d) provide us storage and analysis; (d) provide fraud prevention; and (e) provide other services designed to assist us in maximizing our potential. We require that these outside companies agree to keep confidential all information we share with them and to use the information only to perform their obligations in our agreements with them.

Email and other communications choices
The Kinship Conservation Fellows program provides forms on its website where users can sign-up to receive email messages about our work. Users can unsubscribe from any email list through the unsubscribe link on any email we send you, although we may need to communicate with you for administrative purposes even if you unsubscribe. For United States residents, we undertake marketing only in compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and other applicable law. For European Union residents, we undertake marketing only with your expressive affirmative consent and in compliance with applicable data privacy laws. EU residents will not be added to the marketing lists unless they have already provided express affirmative consent consistent with applicable data protection laws.

Security of your information

Under our policies, data is accessible only by authorized staff of the Kinship Conservation Fellows program and its contractors, but of course security of information accessible to the Internet can never be guaranteed.

We also do not send email correspondence to anyone who tells us that they are under the age of 13 without their parent’s consent. Children under the age of 13 should always ask their parents or guardians for permission before providing any personal information to anyone online. We urge parents and guardians to participate in their children’s online activities and use parental control or other web filtering technology to supervise children’s access to the web.
